DoodleFix has no accounts, no analytics and no advertising. Your drawings stay on your device. They leave it only when you start one of the app's AI features — AI Fix, Describe it or Circle a layout — or when you share a picture yourself. An AI request goes to our server and then to Google's Gemini API to generate a result, and we keep none of what you sent; the only thing our server keeps is a daily request count, described below.
There are no user accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDKs. The app talks to two things and nothing else: Apple's App Store for purchases, and our AI server when — and only when — you start one of the AI features. What each request contains is described below. We keep no copy of your pictures or words and cannot connect a request to you.
Your drawings and every earlier round of them, photos you import, your settings and your remaining AI fixes are written to your device's own storage. The drawings also appear in the Files app, and they are part of any iPhone or iPad backup you make yourself; DoodleFix keeps no copy anywhere else. What you copy with the Copy tool, to paste later, is kept only in the app's cache on the device (not on the system clipboard) and is never uploaded. Everything is removed when you delete the app — all but one small marker in the device's keychain that records that the two included fixes were given, so a reinstall does not give them again. Tools that work on the picture itself — “Fill”, “Spray”, “Ink brush”, “Stay-in-the-lines brush”, “Erase background”, “Text”, “Copy”, “Paste” and “Extract lines” — run entirely on the device.
Two things in the app use the network, and nothing else does.
Purchases. Buying a pack of AI fixes goes through Apple's own App Store purchase flow, handled entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We receive no information about you from it — not your name, not your Apple Account, not your payment details.
The AI features (optional). When you choose to use one, this is sent to our server (a Cloudflare Worker), which forwards it to a third-party AI model (currently Google's Gemini API) and returns the result to your device. The server does not keep what you sent.
Every request also includes the app's language and name, and AI Fix also sends the app's guess of whether the drawing is line art or a sketch. We do not store any of it, do not link it to you and do not use it for anything else. Google processes it to produce the result; under the Gemini API terms that apply to our paid use, Google does not use it to train its models and may retain it only briefly for abuse detection.
Each request carries a random identifier created when the app is installed (a new one after a reinstall). The server keeps only a count of that identifier's requests for the day, deleted automatically within 36 hours, so it can cap requests per install. Your IP address is used, and not stored by us, to limit how often requests can come from one network. Neither is tied to your name, Apple Account or device. Before the first upload, the app explains what is sent and how it is handled, and none of these features runs unless you tap to start it.
The app is rated 4+. There is no chat, no user-to-user content and no advertising; Settings has three links out of the app: this privacy policy, the help page, and our other app, SketchTutor, on the App Store. The only way DoodleFix itself sends a child's drawing or photo off the device is one of the AI features above: they never run on their own, the app asks for consent before the first use, and the consent screen asks children under 13 to check with a parent. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; if you believe a child has sent us something, write to us and we will help.
“Save to Photos” adds the picture to your photo library, with your permission. The share button hands an image to the iOS share sheet, under your control; where it goes is decided by you and governed by whichever app you send it to. Nothing is uploaded by DoodleFix.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new date.
